Abstract
The article traces the development of the herbarium of the Department of Botany at the Higher Institute of Agriculture – Plovdiv, which includes the herbarium of the former Higher Institute of Agriculture – Sofia (SOA). It numbers over 100000 herbarium sheets and is rich in type samples from the Bulgarian and Balkan peninsula endemic plants which are reported in the present paper.
